Researchers from Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) and the Federal University of Juiz de Fora in Brazil aim to use face recognition not just to identify cows individually but also to indicate their health status. The project Happy Cow ID uses computer vision and machine deep learning aimed at replacing expensive, limited and inefficient ear tags and chips with a faster and more precise system to help dairy farmers.
