A look at Japan’s dairy sector shows an expectation that, in 2022, fluid milk production will increase by about 1%, butter production will be down year-on-year, and domestic cheese production is likely to expand. This is according to a USDA report which states that fluid milk production should increase by about 1% in 2022 as more heifers enter milk production. However, weak demand for dairy products in the hotel, restaurant and institutional food sector (HRI) will push surplus drinking milk
