The Chinese market will open up to veal from the Netherlands, worth an annual turnover of € 15 million. This has been promised during the trade mission of the Netherlands to China in April this year. During this visit Dutch Minister Carola Schouten of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality together with Prime Minister Mark Rutte talked with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Beijing and agreed to sign an agreement before this summer to allow export of Dutch veal to China.
