Breakthrough nanomaterial shows promise in degrading DON mycotoxins in feed

Despite many years of research and developing various mitigation approaches, mycotoxins from fungus in grain continue to present serious challenges in poultry, swine and dairy production. New Canadian research aims to combine 2 novel methods to degrade the mycotoxin DON. The first results are promising. One of the most well-known mycotoxins – for poultry, swine and dairy cattle – is deoxynivalenol (DON). A a novel approach to DON degradation is currently being developed by Alvin Alvarado
